What is permanent makeup?
Also known as cosmetic tattooing or micro-pigmentation, permanent makeup uses a small needle to implant coloured pigment into the upper dermal layer of the skin.
I use a modern machine specifically designed for the cosmetic and medical industry, which is very different from conventional tattoo machines.
What does it look like afterwards?
Because it’s a manual technique, you can have individual hairs artistically drawn on, leaving a natural and subtle look.
The aim is to leave you with flattering enhancements that look like perfectly-applied makeup, helping you feel and look your best every day.
Who’s it for?
Most people can have permanent makeup, but it’s particularly helpful for you if:
- You have little time or inclination to apply and refresh your makeup.
- You want to look good as soon as you wake up.
- You’re active but want to look your best when swimming or playing sports.
- You’re allergic or sensitive to traditional makeup.
- You have a visual impairment which makes it harder to put on makeup.
- You have some dexterity issues like arthritis, Parkinson’s or MS – or you’ve had a stroke.
How does the process work?
During your initial free consultation we’ll discuss what you would like and what you feel permanent makeup can do for you, and help you decide on the result that will best suit you.
We’ll look at everything from your lifestyle, image, hair, skin tone and facial features and take them all into consideration.
If you have a specific idea in mind, it’s a good idea to bring along some photos to your initial consultation.
Throughout the process I’ll keep checking that you’re happy with everything we choose to do – you’re in the driving seat.
Permanent cosmetics are far gentler than you might imagine. The specialist equipment I use is sterile and gentle. Clients often comment that the treatment is no more painful than having their eyebrows tweezed.
